Richard Watts started out as a DUI suspect but now he has a whole lot more trouble than a DUI. The Sarasota County man was driving late Tuesday night when North Port police say they attempted to stop him. According to a story in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune Watts tried to get away from the police and crashed his car into a parked vehicle.
At that point Watts allegedly took off on foot and headed home. Police caught up with the man at his house on Hansard Avenue when he once again took off to avoid being arrested. Watts did not get away this time and has been charged with numerous crimes including leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and having a license plate not assigned to his vehicle.
