A school bus driver who ran a red light, hit a pole and had bloodshot eyes was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Police were alerted to the school bus driver by a chaperone who was on the bus with 15 Pittsburgh high school students during a field trip. The bus driver took part in field sobriety tests and a drug recognition expert felt the man could have been under the influence of a controlled substance.
Brian Dunlap was arrested and charged with 15 counts of endangering the welfare of children, DUI and two counts of recklessly endangering another person according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. The field trip was designed to take the students out for a day of service and then to the Carnegie Science Center.
